Parliament building at ‘real risk’ of collapse as multi-billion restoration stalls

A parliamentary scrutiny committee has warned there is a “real and rising risk” that the Palace of Westminster ”will be destroyed by a catastrophic incident” before dealyed, multi-billion-pound plans to restore it are carried out, as the building is ”leaking, dropping masonry and at constant risk of fire”.
